I posted a video of the demonic candy news.
This was a comment from a reader of my blog.
It's amazing how these people are so into magickal thinking like this.
Last night one woman giving out candy was trying to rope kids into listening to her while she preached at them. And she told them that by accepting candy they were agreeing to accept Jesus as their savior. WTF? Is their salvation now a contract clause as well?
I then asked him if it was in his neighborhood.
It was the neighborhood across the street from ours. And, yeah, she did. But Christene and aren't raising the kids to be confrontational in situations like that. Being in the south, they're going to have to deal with a lot of people who act that way and who may be in a position of authority (like a boss, teacher, whatever). So we just tell them to say "uh huh, that's nice" and then walk away.
I stood off to the side while the woman was going through her spiel and was just stunned at gall, to do that in front of their parents (Christene and I were both there). A guy at the state fair last week did the same thing: he swooped over as we walked buy, handed Ben a new testament and then try to proselytize him as we were walking. I walked over, removed the guy's arm (he had it around Ben's shoulder as he talked), handed him back to the bible and said, "Thank you, but we have one. You should give it to someone who needs them". Then I smiled and walked off saying, "Have a nice day."

Had enough.
I attended my mom's funeral today. My son Gary and his girlfriend are deaf so we were interpreting for them the funny stories that the pastor was telling. Of course we laughed and thought of my mom.
We didn't attend the dinner afterwards, we (my kids and their spouses and kids) went to a restaurant for lunch.
You know, it's hard enough that my mom died and I will never go fishing with her again, but to have someone say that we laughed all through the service for my mom was just incomprehensible.
I have had enough. My health and sanity means more to me than keeping in contact with any extended family member.

Horrorcore rap
I know I'm old now. I had never heard of this and it was right under my nose, so to speak. A "Strictly for the Wicked Festival" was held right here in Michigan. Rappers sing about chopping people up and such. Yikes! I guess it's no worse that rapping about shooting someone...is it?
A horrorcore rapper took his lyrics to a new level and really did chop people up. Seems he mentioned that jesus told him to do it. I doubt that, but I'm sure satan didn't tell him to do it either.
From the article:
The Rev. Sylvia Meadows of Farmville United Methodist Church baptized Emma at age 5 and her father when he was an adult. The pastor said the church has invited an occult specialist to speak with members of the community to help them come to grips with the dark side of humanity.
"We have looked evil in the face and cannot deny that it exists," Meadows said. "God is stronger than evil. God is bigger."
Luther Glenn, a member of Walker's Presbyterian Church where Niederbrock was pastor, took issue with McCroskey's comment about Jesus telling him to act. "I think it's deeply rooted in Satan, if you want to know the truth."
If god is bigger as this person stated, where was this all powerful god when this guy was chopping up people? Weird, seems like the god would of stopped it because one victim was a pastor. I don't get it...

Blasphemy Day.
I will attempt to explain in my own words what blasphemy is as I understand it.
God dammit.! Is that blasphemy? How about denying the holy spirit?
What about drawing a picture with crayons of the prophet of islam?
People have died or been sentenced to years in prison for blasphemy. That is just outrageous to me. I say, do you actually think an all powerful god or gods give a shit about a drawing or a word? Do you really think the god is offended? Bullshit I say.
Religion should NOT be held in such high esteem as to not be able to say god dammit, denying a spirit or draw a picture.
Some people just don't understand that not ALL people believe in gods. It's like a fairy tale or a children's story. Well, maybe not some gods' stories. Ahem...
What if I were offended at someone saying that my god, the Flying Spaghetti Monster, is just something you eat? Watch out, all of you non believers of my religion, I may go into court and file a blasphemy charge against you! You may get a twenty year sentence for that.
Now, let's just say that your kid, maybe an 18 year old said "god dammit" or the like, your god sucks etc etc. Someday, someone may think that is blasphemy and your kid would sit in a jail cell or be fined an outrageous amount of money.
All the religions think that their god is the true god. Why not keep your god in your private life. Isn't it supposed to be a relationship between you and your god?

Happy Birthday Larry.

Today is Larry's birthday, wish him well. I couldn't have asked for a better son than him, in my opinion he turned out exceptionally well.
I never thought he would make a living at driving people around, considering that he flunked his first drivers test. Sorry Larro. :) And he loves his job, how cool is that.
Larry, you were so quiet as a kid growing up (well, except your music) and still are, but we can sure "hear" you yelling and having your own opinion on certain things.
I'm sure you wouldn't be where you are today without your wife either. I am so glad you two found each other.
