5 ways blogging has changed me.

1. Write about 5 specific ways blogging has affected you, either positively or negatively.
2. link back to the person who tagged you
3. link back to the parent post (LL says she's "not so much interested in generating links, but rather in tracking the meme so Sean can perhaps do a summary post later on that look at patterns and interesting discoveries.")
4. tag a few friends or five, or none at all
5. post these rules— or just have fun breaking them

1. My first and foremost thought is how I have come across so many people from so many different walks of life. It's amazing that I can talk with someone across the world.

2. Like Sean, I was a person who settled for life, for what was going on around them. I speak out more now, than I ever have.

3. Right around the time I started blogging was when I realized I was an atheist and joined the Atheist Blogroll. I have learned that there is great support there.

4. I am way more outspoken on the subject of religion and politics, blogging has affected me greatly in that respect.

5. One person I want to acknowledge is The Exterminator over at No More Hornets. He has greatly helped me to improve my self esteem.
He gave me some good advice:
Hey, tina, I realize that these posts about your mother are written mainly for your own therapy and for communication within your family. But it sounds to me as if you have to move -- or make believe that you've moved. You're too old to still be trying to live up to some bullshit image of what your mother wants you to be. Especially when it's not half as good as what you really are.

Sorry for the two cents, but maybe you need to hear someone from the "outside" tell you this.

No one tagged me. :)Found the meme at http://nautblog.blogspot.com/

Here's the original meme post link: http://seedlingsinstone.blogspot.com/2008/09/for-better-for-worse-5-ways-blogging.html

Whoever comes across this post, you're tagged.

Hey, Tina:

I'm speechless. That's not an adjective I often use to describe myself. If I helped you to improve your self-esteem, I'm proud of myself. And you, too.

You will always be someone I will remember, even though we've never met. :)
You made me realize that I can't please everyone all of the time. :) Thank You.

Tina thanks for reading my post. I can always count on you to have something interesting to say, or a different insight - keep on blogging. Oh and is I can recommend a book on blogging and chnages it may bring I would suggest The Blogging Revolution by Anthony Loewenstein. Just finished his chapter on blogging in Iran, interesting to note that he met with a few Atheist Iranian bloggers on his travels.

Tina, you are one of the nicest people I've met on the net. If we lived closer, I'd say "Let's do lunch"....

I don't know why I blog because I'm not a writer, but I do feel comfortable with the likes of the other atheists I've stumbled upon on the blogroll. I envy a lot of their intelligence.

As for myself, I love to write. And best of all, I get to meet other infidels too.

Thanks Vamp, I really appreciate that comment. :)
I only visit a few blogs and yours is one of them. I keep trying to add you to my home page via rss but cannot seem to figure it out. :(

Oh and I know what you mean about some of the bloggers being really intelligent!

Hi Tina,

Blogging has helped me to be more informed about the world around me. I've also grown a very thick skin and have learned how to argue effectively. Unfortunately, I've lost a few friends and family members as a result of my knowledge and willingness to share, but the flip side is the peace of mind I've found.

I've also been encouraged by the number of atheists in the blogosphere and that we can make a difference!

Summer,I don't quite have that thick skin yet but, I'm trying to grow it as I speak. :)

Tina, I laughed when I saw your little addition to Rule 3 (that was your addition, yes?).

And many of your list items resonated with me. Except I don't really know Sean. ;-) But I do know what it's like to move beyond settling.

Actually I just replaced "I" with Sean. I got all that from his post. :)
Thanks for stopping by.
